 Guidance to Finding Facilities Providing Substance Abuse Treatment  in Languages Other than English

To find substance abuse treatment facilities providing special language services

1. Go to SAMHSA's Substance Abuse Treatment Facility Locator at http://dasis3.samhsa.gov/

2. On the left side, click on the box for "detailed search" or go to http://dasis3.samhsa.gov/PrxInput.aspx?detail=1

3. Enter the City and State of interest (required entries). You can also complete the zip code and address if you like. Then indicate how many miles radius you wish to include in your search.

4. Hit "continue"

5. Choose which options you want to include in your search. For further information on this step go to http://findtreatment.samhsa.gov/detailTips.htm

OPTIONS - - There are six major service categories:

    • Services Provided
    • Type of Care
    • Special Programs/Groups
    • Special Language Services
    • Forms of Payment Accepted
    • Payment Assistance

6. The choices for Special Language Services will be:

    • ASL or other assistance for hearing impaired
    • American Indian and Alaska Native languages
    • Spanish
    • Foreign languages other than Spanish
