Figure 3.4 is a bar chart showing the prevalence of past year marijuana use among youths aged 12 to 17 by family domain protective factors. The chart indicates the percentage of youths who have used marijuana was lower among youths who reported higher levels of parental encouragement and among youths who reported that their parents were a source of social support. There was no difference in the prevalence of past year marijuana use among youths based on parental communication about the dangers of substance use.
