Figure 2.9 is a bar chart indicating the percentages of youths aged 12 to 17 reporting that their friends would strongly disapprove if the youth were to engage in substance use. The chart indicates that 63.2 percent of friends would strongly disapprove if the youth used marijuana, 57.5 percent would strongly disapprove if the youth used cigarettes, and 59.6 percent would strongly disapprove if the youth used alcohol.
