Figure 2.6 is a bar chart indicating the percentages of youths aged 12 to 17 reporting that their parents would strongly disapprove if the youth were to engage in substance use. The chart indicates that 90.7 percent of parents would strongly disapprove if the youth used marijuana, 87.4 percent would strongly disapprove if the youth used cigarettes, and 89.5 percent would strongly disapprove if the youth used alcohol.
